Following a move back to Lexington for the summer after college, I spent many evenings painting sunflowers. This provided a distraction from being home again while also forcing me to spend time in front of something that makes me feel good. Bud is a small collection of paintings that impressionistically depict different sunflower blooms. This title plays on the pun of a flower bud as well as the nickname bud that Steve and I came to call each other through our teens.
