They Wont Go When I Go
This study was the first attempt at painting the figures that would become They Won’t Go When I Go. The blocky anatomy and harsh lighting informed the concept of the future piece. The painting would have to be much more prominent to depict the desired lighting and sense of space accurately. This study also showed me the time and energy I would need to devote to the final work. I realized that I needed far more practice in painting figures and that I needed to research the traditional painting techniques necessary to achieve the technical look that I had as a goal.
