This work shows Sophie and was inspired by an influential saying she instilled in me, “More Birds”. This sentiment was used as a reminder to look for the positive aspects of life. It grew to remind me of it every time I saw a bird. The paper crane in her mouth is of course a bird, but it is also a token from early in our relationship when I took her paper crane collection for safekeeping while she worked abroad in Korea. -This work was published in the French journal Encre[s] N°8.
